1S-Operations is currently facing numerous integrity challenges as there have been premature pipeline leakages/failures. One of the root causes is the effect of SRB(sulfur-reducing bacteria)caused primarily due to seawater entry into the pipelines through open drain sump caisson system.S-Operations is now investing approximately RM3-5 Billion on pipeline replacements&rejuvenation projects,and several pipelines have been replaced in recent years. 2To mitigate the issue of seawater entry into the pipelines,our design consultant has proposed a tote tank concept in handling open drain caisson system,however it involves operational safety hazards and also large operating expenditures. Consultant was requested to improve their design to eliminate the potential risks and at the same time reduce the overall cost,however they were unable to meet the requirement. 3The proposed design from the consultant is shown below,for all wellhead platforms and CPP(Central Processing Platform).
