The purpose of this study is the development of accelerated abrasion machine which simulates the abrasion load of normal foot traffic targeting a variety of floors. We propose a quick estimation method for changes to the slip resistance floors. Research method: first, establishing method to measure the slip resistance of floors; second, finding out through careful observation of people walking what phenomenon causes the abrasion load; third, investigating the relationship between changes in slip resistance and abrasion due to foot traffic; forth, developing accelerated abrasion machine which can give the abrasion load of a floor. In conclusion, the present study suggests that the quick estimation method for simulating changes to the slip resistance of floors was developed using accelerated abrasion machine.
