Environmentally conscious manufacturing: the effect of metalworking fluid in high speed machining

摘要

Environmentally conscious manufacturing is a new philosophy which focuses on the most efficient and productive use of raw materials and natural resources, and minimizes the adverse impacts on worker's health and safety and the environment. In this article, a set of experiments were designed and conducted on Al alloy to determine the effect of cutting fluid in high speed milling. The variables examined included cutting velocity, feed and tool geometry as well as milling with and without a cutting fluid.
