Since the optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OOFDM) has a high dispersion compensation technique, low cost and advanced digital signal processing technology, it has been widely used as an optical communication system. Recently, studies of optical orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OOFDM) technology have mainly focused on the optical OFDM system architecture and offline simulation analysis. Therefore, this paper mainly demonstrates a high-speed real-time OOFDM transceiver system based on intensity modulation direct detection (IMDD) transport 3.5Gb/s 64-QAM encoded OOFDM signals of over 25km standard single-mode fibers (SMFs), with a bit error rate of 3.0 × 10~(-5).
