COMPARISON STUDY ON THE FATIGUE DESIGN METHOD OF SHEAR CONNECTORS FOR STEEL-CONCRETE COMPOSITE BRIDGES

摘要

The fatigue property of shear connectors is a unique property of steel-concrete composite bridges differing from other kinds of bridges.The fatigue design of shear connectors plays a significant role in the design of composite bridges for safety and durability.Hence, study on the shear connector fatigue property becomes one of the critical problems in researches on steel-concrete composite bridges.Focused on this problem, the paper introduces the basic theory frame of general fatigue design for shear connectors.Five r-N curves and two fatigue design methods of shear connectors are selected and summarized for the comparison study.Comparison results demonstrate that the five selected curves can be reduced to one united mathematical form.It is further found that, although the two selected fatigue design methods share the same simplified design idea, they differ very much from each other in design flows and specific formulas.Conclusions in this paper may provide valuable reference for Chinese codes on the fatigue design of shear connectors for steelconcrete composite bridges.
