The existed Magneto-Rheological Fluid Clutches (MFC) have a low utilization rate of the magnetic field, they are bulky and easily effected by the centrifugal force in high speed rotating situation. And the temperature rise causes the leakage of Magneto-Rheological Fluid (MRF). In order to overcome those shortcomings, design a multi-cylindrical MFC with a pressure balance mechanism and the coil placed beside. Use Ansys Workbench to analyze the temperature field of the clutch, and simulation the magnetic field in Ansoft. From the results, the MFC can transmit a torque of 375 N · m when the current is between 2.5~3 A, and the MFC can work in a reasonable temperature.
