A novel activated carbon catalyst was introduced that impregnated multiple active components, such as Pd, in the coconut. It can purify multiple toxic gases at the same time. The activated carbon impregnated with Pd (namely PdC) was evaluated for their ability to remove CO, NH_3, NO_2, H_2S and HCN from streams of air. The results revealed that PdC had a good removal capacity towards the aforementioned toxic gases, and the effective sorption capacity matched at high and low concentrations, Furthermore, it can effectively catalyze CO for a long period of time.
