Looked at IEC 61508, ISO 26262 and DO-178B and seen where they are similar and where they differ. Found that software for safety critical products must adhere to a Coding Standard. Seen that tools used must be suitable for the product's safety level: ISO 26262 and IEC 61508 allow for tools to be qualified; Tools cannot be DO-178B qualified - the qualification is for a project. Briefly looked at the development process.
