Our presentation will detail the many applications and markets where our products are used in common filtering applications as well as touch on some of the less traditional applications like sound attenuation, diagnostics, and wound care. Filtration applications and markets that we will address include vacuum filtration found in wet corn milling, power plants, chemical production and the like. We are involved in pressure filtration applications in sugar production, refining, and varied dewatering applications. The properties of woven monofilament fabrics in relation to multifilament woven fabrics, felts and nonwovens and membranes will be discussed as they apply. Part of our discussion will be about an application where we replaced felt belts in a vacuum chemical production application with Double Layer Weave monofilament belts. The customer benefits and cost/value, as well as the limitations will be included. The options for different weave styles will be reviewed with the advantages and disadvantages of each highlighted. The applications where open weave fabrics are appropriate as opposed to closed weave styles will also be covered. Sefar monofilament fabrics are used in concert with the filtration media of many of the products of the other AFS corporate sponsors. We hope our presentation will help the group properly position monofilament fabrics within the spectrum of the filtration media available.
