Dynamic error of hydrostatic rotary table is always caused by the fluctuation of the supply pressure and profile errors of the table, which may affect on machining quality and cutter life significantly. In this article, a method is proposed for dynamic error measurement and source localization for the hydrostatic rotary table, which can work at any running speed. A dynamic error model is established in this article, which gives a guidance on how to localize the source error. After that, the dynamic error of hydrostatic rotary table is traced by using the spectrum information at different rotation speed. Experiment results show that the motion error, such as linear motion error and the pitch of the rotary table, can be decoupled and traced exactly by using the proposed method which is of great help to improve the performance of the machining centre.
