A co-simulation model of mechanical and hydraulic steering system is carried out to study the turning characteristic of hyhrid articulated dump truck(ADT).The mechanical parts of the vehicle such as the steering system,the frame,the suspension and the tires,etc.,are built by ADAMS,while a detailed hydraulic power steering model consisting of two steering cylinders,a rotary valve,a pump,hydraulic pipes,etc.,is established by AMESim.The friction forces acting on the tires are presented while the two hydraulic steering cylinder pushing the ADT turning at a standstill.The moving direction of the two middle wheels is different from that of the other wheels.The behavior of hydraulic steering system,such as displacement and acting force of hydraulic cylinders,can be achieved.The steady-state response of ADT is investigated while the articulated angle and forward speed of the truck maintained at a certain value bv PID controller.It is shown that the forward speed of ADT has influence on the friction force of each tire.
