Empirical Analysis on the Economies of Scale of Nature Rubber Production Based on the Panel Data of 86 Rubber Farms of HSF between 1998-2007

Based on the panel data of 86 rubber farms of HSF(Hainan State Farm) between 1998-2007, the number of rubber trees being tapped and annual output of tapping workers as variables were chosen in this paper, and it was applied of the non-linear regression to analyze nature rubber's production scale, then two conclusions were gained: (1) There was nonlinear economies of scale in natural rubber production of Hainan State Farms;(2) In theory, the optimal scale of rubber farm of HSF was 2322.2hm2.
