Bioabsorbable stent coatings and polymer free drug delivery

摘要

To address concerns of late and very late stent thrombosis associated with first generation drug eluting stent (DES) technology, novel approaches are being tested included stents with bioabsorbable polymer coatings and polymer-free drug delivery systems. This paper reviews some of the key clinical data evaluating these approaches and describes future directions for technology development.
