A Fuzzy Approach to Predict On-Time Delivery Performance in Maritime Transportation

Evaluation and selection of the most suitable marine carrier plays a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of maritime transportation activities. This paper proposes a decision approach in order to predict the timely delivery performance of available ships, which can be measured by transport delays. The proposed model employs fuzzy regression analysis to obtain a prediction equation between system variables, and then provides decision-makers a ranking among the ship alternatives.
