Willingness to Pay for Preventive Treatment of Urban Waterlogging and Its Determinants in Nanjing

The study aimed to clarify public willingness to pay for preventive treatment of urban waterlogging in Nanjing, and the main factors involved in WTP by applying the contingent valuation method. The results show as following: (1) 53.22% of respondents' WTP is over 0 Yuan (RMB); (2) The average annual willing payment per family is 50.86 Yuan; Take Nanjing as the study population, the total willing payment is 1.064 hundred million Yuan; (3) The regression analysis indicates that the respondent's age, education, income, and the governmental reliance, waterlogging risk worry, waterlogging risk acceptability are the major factors influencing the respondents' willingness.
