A Novel Image Similarity Metric using SIFT-based Characteristics

A robust similarity metric for digital images is proposed in this article. First a SIFT-based image feature extraction is described. Then, a metric that measures properly the distance between the resulted SIFT-based feature vectors is modeled. It uses the matchings of the SIFT keypoints between the two compared images. Some experiments are also presented in this paper.
