Objectives. The research was conducted in all the three Re-education Centres in Romania at that time (Buzias, Gaesti and Tg Ocna), included a total number of 22 respondents. Surveys applied to the decisive segment and to the execution segment (the education sector), meaning the staff of the re-education centers, were the pencil-paper surveys and semi-structured interview. We chose this option because of its ergonomic character, focused on the working time / availability of employees from the Romanian prisons / re-education centres. For the two surveys applied to youth offenders (who were free at the moment of their assessment) was used the interview method (the call method), because the two persons come from other counties than those in which the research was conducted.Sample. The survey included a total number of 22 respondents. Six of them belong to the manager segment / decision makers, 12 of them belong to the educators segment / psychologists and 2 of them belong to the ex-prisoners segment (ex-inmates).Methodology. We used qualitative analyse.Results. The results were focused upon: skills that inmates should acquire and skills that penitentiary workers (educators, psychologists, social workers) should acquire.
