Soil salinity is one of the most significant limiting factors in agriculture. There is about 1300 million hectares of lands affected by salt stress in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, the largest province in China. Halophytes can survive salinized environments where the salt concentration is around 200 mM NaCI or more. Suaeda rigida H. W. Kung et G. L. Chu is an endemic halophyte with important economic and ecological values in Tarim Basin, Xinjiang (Zhao et al 2011). One samples of S. rigida seeds were collected from nine different saline locations to get the fingerprint and pattern in seeds of Suaeda rigida growing in Tarim Basin.
