The reproductive ecology of plant species is closely linked to extinction of many species. The studies on reproductive ecology of endangered species include four aspects: pollination ecology, seed ecology, seedling ecology and clone ecology (Li et al2005). In seed ecology field, many people have studied the seed production pattern, physical and chemical properties of seed, seed vigor, seed dormancy, seed dispersal, predators, diseases and insect pests, soil seed banks and germination characteristics, etc. The endangered cause of many wood plant is related to the seed, such as Taxuschinenwsisvar. mairei (Yue era/ 2010), Emmenopterys henryi (Kang ef al 2011), and so on. The objectives of the present study were to explore the endangered causes of a rare species Ormosia henryi by studying the seed ecology, and put forward the protection countermeasures and suggestions for Ormosia henryi.
