A transmission control system with hydraulic, mechatronic and electronic can be realized by different integration levels, from single components linked by wiring harnesses up to transmission integrated modules. The paper puts into evidence the features of these different solutions and compares them to the requirements. It summarizes trends and marks decision criteria for the transmission designer and transmission manufacturer from the point of view of a transmission control supplier.
