The use of an electric motor in combination with a multi-speed transmission with dog clutches has several advantages in terms of efficiency and required space compared to a direct electric drive with only one gear. All safety goals according to ISO 26262 with an ASIL classification must be matched. This can increase risk of development and will increase the development effort. To reduce these risk factors early in the design phase hofer f&e uses specially developed system simulation models based on LMS Imagine.Lab AMESim and specially developed software algorithms in the design and interpretation phase to decrease development risks.
