Chopped basalt fiber reinforced wood sawdust panels were glued using melamine modified urea-formaldehyde resin. In order to improve the interfacial property, the basalt fibers was pre-treated by silane coupling agent. The tensile and bending strengths of the wood composites were tested, which indicated that the tensile and bending strengths of wood composites both reached their maximum values, 17.359MPa and 37.331MPa respectively, when the concentration of silane coupling agent is 0.75%.
