Arkema Inc.is introducing a new product Luperox? Air-XL? organic peroxide,capable of curing elastomers like EPDM in hot air tunnels replacing sulfur vulcanization for various applications including automotive weather profile,hose,seals and gaskets that are extruded and cured in hot air.Luperox? Air-XL? organic peroxide successfully replaced sulfur vulcanization by producing a fully cured extruded EPDM profile in a continuous process using microwave plus a hot air tunnel.The crosslinked EPDM profiles cured using this AIR PEROXIDE? system exhibited a tack-free surface with greatly improved tensile and elongation properties versus the standard peroxide and provided outstanding % Compression Set values at elevated temperatures compared to sulfur vulcanized EPDM.The ability to fully cure continuous rubber profile in hot air tunnels using a wide range of peroxide curable elastomers with superior physical properties compared to sulfur vulcanization while
