The basic working principles of 3-D printing technology are introduced, development situation of Additive Manufacturing technology at home and abroad are described. The present status and latest achievements of rapid prototyping (RP) technology that apply in the field of aviation in home and abroad are described and analyzed in detail. The importance of 3-D printing is pointed out for aeronautical manufacturing.
