Geographical Information System (GIS) has been widely used for subsea pipeline routing, survey data management, field development planning, and as a spatial modeling tool to provide engineering design support. However, the implementation of GIS in support of subsea Asset Integrity Management (AIS) is relatively new. This paper: 1. Discusses how a GIS can be implemented to support the development and management of a comprehensive and robust Asset Integrity Management System (AIMS) for full lifecycle integrity management of subsea assets. 2. Discusses an innovative approach of developing an enterprise GIS through integration with Pipeline Open Data Standard (PODS) model and Subsea Survey Data Model (SSDM) to provide the overall data management and system delivery platform in support of a proposed AIMS implementation. 3. Introduces a unique data integration process for the AIMS based on multi-phase multisource data management concept. At the end, a case study is presented to demonstrate the huge benefit of using the GIS based AIMS for subsea asset integrity management.
