Wattenberg Field Unconventional Reservoir Case Study

摘要

The Wattenberg Field located in the Denver Basin of Colorado USA has been explored and developed since the 1970s. Thefield contains large reserves of primarily gas and some condensate in unconventional tight sand and shale reservoirs. Overtime, technologies have emerged to efficiently exploit the hydrocarbon resources in this field and this includes hydraulicfracture techniques, down spacing and identification of sweet spots. This presentation summarizes the development of thetechniques used to exploit these unconventional reservoirs and such techniques can be used for future exploration anddevelopment of other unconventional reservoirs globally.
