New Challenges for Maritime Safety and Security Simulation based Training with the Safety Security Trainer

The STCW 95 revision put emphasize on assessment, and this is continued in the 2010 Manila amendments. Following this, simulator manufacturers included automated assessment methods/systems into their simulators. An EU funded project in the late 90-ies described methods on how this could be done. When DNV made their first "Standard for Certification of Maritime Simulator Systems" in 2000 this was made mandatory.
