Different methods of increasing the mechanical strength of glass containers include the coatings have been intensively investigated for many years. Very important factors, which can contribute to the increasing the mechanical resistance of glass packaging are the following methods such as: heat treatment, glass digestion, internal gasification and also the application on the hot end and cold end coatings. The aim of the following investigations was to evaluate the effect of coating application method on mechanical resistance of glass containers. The new method was used for application hot-end coating based on major precursors the nano -particles of alumina compounds and hardened polymer UV for cold end coating. It has been shown the progress in the research results of internal pressure, vertical load resistance and impact resistance of glass packaging. The following results could be used as guidelines for future container weight and the decrease of wall thickness.
