Destination Community Apps may challenge the dominance of global search and mapping engines by providing communities that want to brand, control and manage the visitor experience with the tools to create a better product. The Centre for Community Mapping (COMAP), a not-for-profit provider of software as a service and the Computer Systems Group of the University of Waterloo (UWCSG) are developing Destination Community Apps services in Ontario.
