An uplink multi-user multi-input multi-output (MIMO) user selection scheme is proposed for Long Term Evolution-Advanced (LTE-A) system. The centralized resource allocation in LTE-A uplink channel is the prerequisite of the scheduling process. The first user on the Resource Block (RB) is selected by Proportion Fair (PF) algorithm at the base station (BS), and the paring users is selected by improved PF (IPF) algorithm which includes interference-weighted factor (IWF). IWF is calculated by BS as a part of priority factor used for selecting the paring user, it can properly reflect the interference of sector-edge users and the probability of selecting sector-edge users is bigger. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can obviously improve user fairness and maintain the system throughput.
