The structure and types of the diamond string bead wire are introduced in this paper firstly.Then the grinding mechanism of the wire is studied based on cutting tests of the seabed oil pipelines.Micro morphology wear characteristics of the diamond string bead wire are analyzed.The surface morphology of the string beads after grinding proves that the analysis is correct.Lastly,the relationship curves between anti-wear rate and feed speed,curves between anti-wear rate and cutting speed are obtained based on the quantitative analysis of wear process and discipline in cutting seabed oil pipelines.And grinding surface quality by string bead wire is analyzed.
