A wideband horizontal polarized omnidirectional loop antenna is proposed. The antenna consists of a loop loaded with periodical slots and a one-to-four power feeding network. With proper slots loaded in the loop, the ring behaves as the mu-negative transmission line (MNG-TL), and the current in the loop can remain in phase and uniform. A one-to-four power feeding network is used to further keep current in the loop uniform. Simulated results show O.2dB of gain difference in the omnidirectional plane. The measured results prove that a horizontal omnidirectional pattern with a wide bandwidth of about 560MHz (2.01GHz, 2.57GHz) is achieved.
