摘要

This paper presents a miniaturized quadrifilar helix antenna. The miniaturization is based on merging two different approaches. The first one is related to the loading of the tip of the four helical arms by circular elements. The incorporation of dielectric slabs within the empty space between the antenna arms constitute the second approach. The effect of changing the antenna's planar ground plane into a conical volumetric shape is studied as well. The fabricated prototype using 3D printing technology features good analogy with the simulated design.
