This paper presents a synthesis algorithm for the beam-scanning of antenna arrays having fixed null directions in the far-field pattern. The proposed algorithm performs the beam-scanning by phase-only control. Hence, the amplitudes of the array elements are kept constant, while only their excitations are modified. This allows one to maintain a simpler and less expensive feeding network. The algorithm is suitable for arrays of arbitrary geometry. Numerical examples are provided to show the effectiveness of the method.
