This paper presents a low-profile cavity-backed slot antenna embedded into a conical platform to achieve end-fire radiation. Three closely spaced slots are etched out of the cavity wall to achieve supergain as well as to broaden the bandwidth. Simulated results show that the conformal antenna can achieve an impedance bandwidth from 9.3 to 10.81 GHz and maximum gain of 9.5 dBi. A prototype of the conformal array configuration with six separate antenna elements is fabricated and tested. Measured results are in good agreement with simulated ones.
