摘要

1.The printed (based on FDM) polymer material has a heat-shrinkable property, whose initial microstructure can undergo a spontaneous pattern transformation under heating. 2.The underlying mechanism is that a uniform internal strain is stored in the polymer during the printing process and can be released when heated above its glass transition temperature. The internal strain increases with the increasing of building speed. 3.Based on the heat-shrinkable property of printed polymer, we can design variety of lightweight self-folding structures by printing polymer materials on membrane such as paper.
