Improving Social and Environmental Outcomes

Currently the implementation of REDD+ at a project and jurisdictional level is creating infrastructure for biodiversity compensation and regional development, which can be leveraged by companies to achieve their business objectives. Properly structured REDD+ projects and jurisdictional programs can be a tool to support a company's required biodiversity management plan and the establishment of no net loss/net positive impact in over 78 countries. Through partnering with organizations where companies operate in the implementation of REDD+, companies may also be able to improve the political feasibility of biodiversity offsets, build a competitive advantage in concession bidding, and maintain a stable working environment, since progress in REDD+ implementation catalyzes additional aid, development, and private sector funding and support for host countries.
