Soil release is a kind of easy-care treatment for various kinds of apparels; for examples: sportswear, casual wear and lei-surewear for children and adult. Apparels treated with this soil release finishing can allow oil and soil to be removed more easily during laundering under common household conditions than untreated. This special finishing not only enhances the soil-release function, but also protects the fabric from re-deposition during washing and enriches absorbency of water. In this paper, the effect of soil release treatment on the UV blocking effect of 100% cotton knitted structure will be studied.
