摘要

Carbon dioxide is an increasingly large component of earth’s atmosphere and is linked to global climate change. Most scientists recognize the necessity of mitigating atmospheric CO2, and, as chemists we are particularly interested in catalytically converting the CO2 into a liquid fuel. The first step in this overall transformation is the binding of CO2 to the catalytic species. We have undertaken a course of study regarding the interaction of CO2 with main group elements, specifically boranes (and borates) and phosphines.
