As the hydrocarbon fuel is expected to be the dominant energy source for a very long time, the development of the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) technology is highly important for large scale reduction in the consumption of energy resource and its environmental impact. The anode concentration polarization with hydrocarbon fuel makes a significant contribution to the voltage loss in an anodesupported SOFC. A mass-transfer model that is capable of accurately describing the fuel gas transport is very important for the design optimization of the anode structure to increase the SOFC efficiency.
