Localized drug delivery system for effective treatment of liver cancer

Results of the study indicate that the treatment of malignant tumor using SCPC-Cis scaffolds was more effective than the systemic administration of the drug. The tumor regression was 70 % higher in the groups treated with SCPC-Cis than the IP group. In conjunction with the high Cis concentration in the tumor and the minimal distribution of the drug in blood and organs, normal functions of the liver and kidney were observed for animals treated with the SCPC-Cis. Currently we are evaluating injectable SCPC-drug hybrids to test its therapeutic effect in the liver tumor using animal model.
