Automobile vehicles are getting rolled out on the roads every year. There is phenomenal increase in view of growing economy, increased market requirement and aspirations of the people. Same time the noise emanating from the vehicles are also getting increased. Out of the full vehicle, exhaust plays dominant role in noise pollution increase and is one of the primary contributors to the overall vehicle noise. Noise pollution caused by exhaust system can be minimized by decreasing the levels of the noise emitted and improving the sound quality of the system. Development of sound quality starts with setting the noise quality target by physical benchmarkingfollowed by concept design finalization, Virtual verification to confirm the target meeting, identifying the best three concepts by virtual analysis, vehicle level concept verification for targets andfinally the refinement of best concept, followed by evaluation at vehicle level to confirm the set targets
