There are two options to upgrade industry: the first is to transfer the traditional industry to strategically new industry with high added value; the second is to extend the traditional industry to the upstream of value chain. Under the pressure of fierce market competition and the push of government implementing industry upgrade strategy, Guangdong Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with the tradition of export orientation will speed up the steps of internationalization. In accordance of the seven theories of SMEs internationalization and the facts of Guangdong, the article proposes four suggestions, to guide SMEs to evolve to the more advanced stages of internationalization, help them to obtain overseas market intelligence, reduce learning cost and operation obstacles, assist them to establish confidence and lead companies to cooperate in exploring foreign markets.
