@@ N-Methylcarbamate insecticides (Nmethylcarbamates) are a class of the most widely used insecticides in agricultural fields, gardens and households. They inhibit acetylcholine esterase. Burkholderia sp. C3 was recently isolated from petroleum-contaminated soil. The strain C3 rapidly degrades polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) and undertakes initial 1,2-and 3,4-dioxygenations of PAHs and meta-and ortho-cleavages of naphthalene-1,2-diol.
