Fire can cause increases in process pressure in the gathering station of nature gas(Fire can cause process pressure increase in the natural gas gathering station. Relief system is the main process control measure to minimize or prevent the excessive pressure. In this paper, relief scenarios caused by fire are determined by risk/Hazard identifications. A dynamic process model is established to simulate the relief flow rate changes. A procedure for evaluating the relief ability of safety relief vale is given. Finally, an example is provided for demonstrating the feasibility of the evaluation process.
