Evaluation of Physical Information Gathering Methods for the Upper Mississippi River. Stages I and II

This report presents the results of a literature review investigation to determine the feasibility of, and the methodologies for conducting, physical inventories in the Upper Mississippi River. The purpose of the study is to determine if such inventories can be accomplished in a cost effective and time-efficient manner to provide necessary information that can be used to refine and update the existing data base for the GREAT I computerized information system. The physical inventories can then be related to biological inventories and habitat preference information for the purpose of evaluating the possible environmental effects of various management schemes.
