Considerations for the territorial feasibility of mining projects

Our long and isolated country has earned a world-wide reputation as a leading copper exporter. Starting in the 90's, the Chilean mining sector showed unprecedented growth, powered by foreign investments which represent over 40% of total foreign investment since the year 2002. Chile does not only appeal to foreign investors because of its vast natural resources but also due to the quality of its human resources. Our people, especially in the North of the country, possess a long standing mining tradition, as well as increasing technical know-how.
