A Universal Buoy System of Ocean Acoustics

An integrated ocean acoustics experimental instrument named Universal Buoy System of Ocean Acoustics (UBS) is proposed. UBS consists of a universal information subsystem, transmitting transducers, hydrophones, general oceanography instruments, a machine framework, and a moorage subsystem. UBS works autonomously to realize underwater acoustics signal transmission and reception punctually. Ocean current and temperature profiles can also be measured synchronously. The functions of electromagnetic and acoustic communications are also provided by the system. The feasibility of UBS has been tested in several experiments. UBS could be used in the fields of underwater acoustics research and ocean dynamics investigations.
