REGULATIONS ON MINORITY IN THE NEW CRIMINAL CODE

In the New Criminal Code, the minority issues regulated in Title V represent an important element proposed by the New Criminal Code.A 10 year old child was condemned to death by hanging because he killed another child while playing. The old laws in our country contained provisions related to the age and punishments applied. In this respect, it is important to specify that, until the age of seven, children were not punished, therefore they were not legally accountable; children aged seven to twelve were punished, but the punishments were less severe, while children over 12 years of age were punished more severely. All criminal law and criminal procedure experts unanimously consider that age is one of the most important aspects which influence will. Depending on age, as far as the incidence of criminal law is concerned, an individual may belong to one of the following categories: child, teenager, adult, old person.
