Oil comprehensive analysis technologies, which included oil routine physical and chemical analysis, atomic spectroscopic analysis, ferrographic analysis and filtergram analysis, were used to analyse gear oil samples. The results of atomic emission spectrometry and ferrography showed that the quality of the gear oil were normal. But, the result of filtergram particle analysis showed that the gear oil contained many large-size non-ferrous metal wear particles. So this gear box was likely abnormal or not completed. Thus, The organic synthesis of several particle analysis technology is an effective way to improve machine wear condition monitoring reliability.
